    Amy Romano has analyzed, summarized, and critiqued research for the Lamaze International community since 2004. She writes the Research Summaries for Normal Birth e-News and is a columnist for the Journal of Perinatal Education.  She co-authored The Evidence Basis for the 10 Steps of the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative (pdf)and is co-authoring the second edition of Obstetric Myths versus Research Realities with Henci Goer (due out from University of Michigan Press in 2010). She is a midwife in a Connecticut-based practice offering full-scope midwifery care and home or hospital birth. Amy’s new blog - Science & Sensibility: A Research Blog about Healthy Pregnancy, Birth, and Beyond - launches soon at Lamaze.org.

    Kathy McGrath is a childbirth educator, doula, and social worker. She has served on the Board of Directors of Lamaze International, is a doula trainer, and speaks nationally on labor support, childbirth education, and issues related to birth.
