What Are You Googling in Pregnancy?

google search.jpgIn many ways, Google has been life changing -- it has changed how we find and retrieve information, how we acquire knowledge, and how we answer and solve questions and problems, from the smallest to the most profound. When it comes to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding, some might say that Google is essential. The truth is, searching for answers to questions about pregnancy and birth on Google can give you solid, evidence-based information. Of course, it never replaces the care, evaluation, and advice you receive from your doctor or midwife, but it's an excellent place to start, and in fact, can confirm or call into question the quality of care you're getting.

Since we use Google for so much, I thought it would be fun to share what the reasons people are using Google for when it comes to all things pregnancy-birth-postpartum. Below is a list of the top phrases in Google's autocomplete list and the top four questions that pop up in a Google word search, according the searches for pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and breastfeeding. And because education and providing sound information is at the heart of everything we do at Lamaze, I've also included any relevant links that relate to the topics listed.
